Solutionary Vegan is a collaboration between our founders (below) our huddle of esteemed mentors, the vast community of change-leaders, funders and supporters, our fellow students—our audience, and especially our non-human animal friends, some of whom are pictured below.

Ella Magers, MSW, Host

Ella figured out what was on her plate when she was 7, and has been fully vegan for over 25 years. She started her advocacy work at the age of 15.

Her brand, Sexy Fit Vegan® (2013) has an audience that is 50K strong. She created The Vegan Life Coach Podcast in 2021, and in less than one year, the show has been downloaded over 40K times. All this, to empower people to align their actions with their values and to build a plant strong body, heart, and mind—for LIFE—ours and theirs.  

She is a published author, speaker, and podcast host, who has conducted interviews and workshops across the globe on veganism, wellness, fitness and their intersections.

Jennifer Tourkin, MA, Humane Education, Host

After completing her undergrad at the University of Pennsylvania’s, Wharton School, then studying enology at Fresno State and Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (yup, winemaking), Jennifer served as National Marketing Director for a California wine association, then owned a wine marketing company for several years before pursuing her passion — serving animals.

To that end, she has worked with and volunteered for various animal advocacy organizations and is a whisper away (4/22) from completing her Masters in Humane Education.

She studies animal protection, environmental justice, and human rights, with an unrelenting lens toward the connections between these issues, and strategically creating the most positive impact.

She believes in data, effective altruism, evidence-based optimism, vulnerability, dialog, and the power of stories.
